There are plenty of apps on Google Play store that let you cast your Android screen on the computer. But most of them are not reliable and some of them which do work sometimes, are filled with pop up ads and are often paid.
But guess what, you can use the good old TeamViewer to cast your Android screen to your PC and macOS. This is useful if you want to give a product demo of your App to your client on a bigger screen or troubleshoot your parent’s smartphone remotely.

Mirror Your Android Screen to Any Computer
Follow the Steps
1. On your Android, head over to Google Play Store and install TeamViewer Host.
2. Once installed login or create a new TeamViewerwer account, if you don’t have one already. This will assign your Android device to your list of TeamViewer device, which you can easily manage and control remotely.
3. Next, go to your computer (Windows, macOS, Linux, anything will do), type this address on your web browser – login.teamviewer.com. Now, sign in to same TeamViewer account.
4. You’ll find your Android device on the list, click on the Connect option next to it.
5. You’ll see a popup asking your permission to launch the TeamViewer app on your computer. Click on OK. If you don’t have Teamviewer app installed on your computer, you first have to download that and then launch it.
6. Teamviewer will open in a new window on your computer. But it still won’t show you, your Android screen.
Since it’s your first time using the app, you have to grant permission to TeamViewer app. Head over to your Android smartphone and there you’ll see a pop up saying – Host will start capturing everything that’s displayed on your screen.
To proceed, tap on Start Now. If you like to have permanent access to your unattended Android device, then click on the small checkbox that says, Don’t show again.
7. And that’s it, now you can cast your Android screen to your computer.
To get the Android screen out of TeamViewer app window, to a new video of its own, click on the small box with the arrow icon on the top.
Other Things you can do with Teamviewer on Android
Other than real-time screen sharing from your Android to Computer, there are several other things you can do with you Teamviewer Host app.
Shared Clipboard – Teamview support universal clipboard. If you copy text on your computer, it’ll automatically be copied to the Android clipboard as well.
Uninstall Apps – From the Apps section you can quickly uninstall apps, however, the user will have to confirm the same on their Android device.
Remote control – While you can not actually control your Android smartphone from your computer, you can guide the other person. For instance, if you click on the certain part of the Android screen from your Teamviewer app on the computer, it’ll show a hand gesture in the Android phone, thereby guiding the Android user through their issue. This is useful if you are troubleshooting your parent smartphone.
Transfer files – TeamViewer supports FTP, meaning you can transfer file back and forth from your Computer to Android
Wrapping Up: Mirror Your Android Screen
While testing, I played a YouTube video on my Android, and TeamViewer was able to cast it to the bigger screen with almost no delay or major frame drop. However, it can only mirror the Android screen, it doesn’t transmit the audio.
One important thing to keep in mind is, if you grand unattended access, the other party can see everything you do on your Android. Meaning, if you open the bank app on your Andoird or send a sensitive email, the other person can see that in plain sight. Yes, you’ll still the notification that TeamViewer is ON, but if you have too many notifications already, that could be easy to mix.
Overall Teamviewer worked fine in my testing and had all the desired features that you need for free. However, screen mirroring could be a dangerous thing if you are not careful with whom you are sharing data with, so be careful while using these apps.

Features[edit]
TeamViewer is available for Microsoft Windows, macOS,[13][14]Linux,[15]Chrome OS,[16]iOS,[17]Android,[18]Windows RT,[19]Windows Phone 8[20] and BlackBerryoperating systems. It is also possible to access a machine running TeamViewer with a web browser.[21] While the main focus of the application is remote control of computers, collaboration and presentation features are included.[22]
History[edit]
The software is distributed by the German company TeamViewer GmbH, which was founded in Göppingen, Germany in 2005. As of 2018, TeamViewer has local representations in Australia and the United States.
Two outside investments were placed in TeamViewer since 2010. The Durham, North Carolina-based company GFI Software acquired a majority stake in TeamViewer in 2010. The London-based private equity firm Permira took over GFI's stake in TeamViewer in 2014.[23]

Abuses[edit]
Remote service scams using TeamViewer[edit]
TeamViewer and similar services have been used to commit technical support scams via telephone calls. People are called, either at random or from a list, by criminals claiming to represent a computer support service that has identified the victim's computer as being infected by malware, most often using the name of companies such as Microsoft. They then ask the victim to give them access to their computer by installing a remote control service, which can allow the attacker to infect the computer with malware or to delete or copy personal files. A Wired journalist investigating the scams was asked by a scammer to install TeamViewer.[25][26] It was reported that ransomware programs were utilizing TeamViewer as a tool to obtain remote access to infected machines.[27][28] In the United Kingdom, the Internet service providerTalkTalk blocked many remote access tools to protect its customers from remote service scams.[29] They remain blocked as of April 2019.
Account access misuse[edit]
In June 2016, hundreds of TeamViewer users reported having their computers accessed by an unauthorized address in China and bank accounts misappropriated.[30] However, TeamViewer said that 'neither was TeamViewer hacked nor is there a security hole, TeamViewer is safe to use and has proper security measures in place. Our evidence points to careless use as the cause of the reported issue, a few extra steps will prevent potential abuse.'[31]
Following the reported misuse, TeamViewer went offline several hours due to a denial-of-service attack.[32] The company published a statement on its Web site summarizing the events and giving guidance in how users can protect themselves.[33] TeamViewer referred to previous LinkedIn, Tumblr, and MySpace security breaches where millions of email and password pairs were hacked and the stolen login credentials were also valid for the TeamViewer accounts of the victims.[34]
BDSM[edit]
In July 2018, The Register reported the widespread use of TeamViewer in the BDSM scene for HD live video sessions, following the observation that many posts on Twitter exist where these kind of services are offered.[35]
